    Notes:

JDS notes-The names of the girls born in 1833 and 1835 appear to be flip-flopped in the 1850 Census transcription. I don't know whether they are that way in the original, but I do know that they are certainly reversed. In the 1834 Census transcription the girl born in 1833 (1 1/2 years old as of 6 Oct 1834) is Maria Katharina.

JDS notes-Maria Catharina Klaus married Johann Georg Körber (Kerber in the USA) of Stahl am Tarlyk sometime before Jul 1853. She had six known kids by him, five of which came to the USA and ultimately wound up in Fresno. This old woman came to the USA with her son Adam and family in March 1898. I'm not sure where she was in 1900 or 1910, but there's no doubt that she died in Fresno County on 26 Mar 1914 and is buried in Mountain View Cemetery. Her grave marker gives 1832 as her birth year, but she was actually born 5 Mar 1833. AHSGR Fresno notes give her father as Adam Claus and her mother as Mary Katrena Klaus, so her mother's maiden name remains a mystery.

    Mountain View Cemetery
