• Notes

  On-line genealogies show Mindwell born either 1680 or 1687, but we have no citation for either. The early genealogies such as Stiles-The History and genealogies of Ancient Windsor do not show Mindwell as a daughter of Daniel, but do mention that she married Ebenezer Hayden and is probably a granddaughter of Edward (actually great granddaughter). But the book 'The Griswold family : the first five generations in America' does show this relationship as evidenced by the following post by Cora Lee Griswold. We show Mindwell was b. c. 1682/83 in Windsor, CT. She died in Harwinton, CT, but we have no date. A descendant of Edward, her lineage is followed in the FIRST FIVE GENERATIONS (61/108). Mindwell was the daughter of Daniel Griswold and Mindwell BISSELL. Besides David, her marriage with Ebenezer produced the following children: Ebenezer m. 1) Mary TRUMBLE 2) Dorothy LOOMIS and Mindwell who m. Rev. Jedediah DEWEY.
