  JDS Notes- Her obituary gives her birthdate as 1 Jul 1892, but her birth year is 1893 on her grave marker. Obituary taken from the Tuesday, June 8, 1965 edition of The News-Palladium, Benton Harbor, Berrien County, MI, USA: Mrs. Peter (Katherine) Demler, 72, of route 2, Berrien Springs, died at 5:30 a. m. today at Memorial hospital, St. Joseph. Mrs. Demler was born July 1, 1892 in Russia. She came to this area in 1910. On Nov. 17, 1912 she married Peter Demler in Baroda [sic, Three Oaks]. He survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Karl (Millie) Kerschbaum of Benton Harbor, Mrs. Herman (Margaret) Zepik of Mont Clare, Calif., Mrs. Henry (Lovern) Maier of Berrien Springs, and Mrs. Harold (Marian) Ladendorf of St. Joseph; three sons, Edward of Monte Bello, Calif., George of St. Joseph and Henry of Stevensville; 19 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a brother, John Hergenrader of Buchanan and a half sister, Mrs. A. C. Ehrlich of Quartz Hill, Calif. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p. m. at the Zion Evangelical and Reformed church in Baroda. Burial will be in Galien cemetery. The body is at the Kerlikowske Starks and Beatty funeral home St. Joseph. [Note: It would seem that the brother named was actually a half-brother and the half-sister named was actually a sister.]
