      Born in Kukkus, Samara, Russia, the son of Johann Heinrich Dinges and Katherine Heinrich.

      He immigrated to America with his wife and five children (Katherine, Jacob, John, Henry, and Alexander) on the S.S. Columbia in 1907 arriving in New York on May 18, 1907.

      Henry/Heinrich married three times. His first wife was Anna Maria Heinrich, his second wife was Katherina Dittenbier Reitz, a widow, and his third wife who he married on July 28, 1925 was Maria Leider Forraht, also a widow.

      Father of at least 16 children: Katherine, Henry, Jacob, John, Henry, Alexander, August, Henry, Emanuel, Peter, Mary, Fred, Theodore, Donald, William, and Ernest. He was also step-father to Alexander, John, Andrew, and George Reitz, and Jacob and Henry Forraht.
